You can call Kid Cudi a lot of things. He’s a GRAMMY Award winning, Gold-selling rapper, in-demand producer, songwriter, acclaimed actor, and an “artist” in the truest sense of the word. The Cleveland-born MC singlehandedly ushered in a different era of hip-hop in the late aughts. His first official project, A Kid Named Cudi, was released in 2008 and caught the attention of Kanye West who signed the rising star to G.O.O.D. Music later that year. Cudi worked on 808s & Heartbreak as well as JAY-Z‘s The Blueprint 3 alongside West and eventually released his Gold-certified debut album Man On The Moon: The End Of Day in 2009. Singles like “Day ‘N’ Nite (nightmare)” hit the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 and Cudi’s career skyrocketed. The following year, he dropped Man On The Moon II: The Legend Of Mr. Rager and took a brief hiatus to follow his rock roots alongside long-time collaborator Dot Da on their joint WZRD album. But it was 2013’s Indicud that pushed Cudi to chart-topping heights. With his success in the studio, Cudi got more involved onscreen, too, but found time to release his 2017 album, Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’, which featured assists from Travis Scott, André 3000, Pharrell Williams, and Willow Smith. In 2018, Cudi and his G.O.O.D labelmate, Kanye West, released a joint album, Kids See Ghosts, under the moniker of the same name.
