- Biography
Tupac Amaru Shakur, better known as 2Pac, was more than just a rapper—he was undoubtedly one of the most influential artists of all time. Introducing the world to his truthful and gritty style on his debut album 2Pacalypse Now, Pac traded in party lyrics for the raw reality of the streets on songs like “Brenda’s Got a Baby.” His talents went beyond music and Pac took on the mantle of actor, rapper, poet, and certified hitmaker, too. His 1996 album, All Eyez On Me, spanned two discs and shook the hip-hop world to its core—becoming the rare rap album to sell 10 million copies, making it RIAA certified Diamond. 2Pac had the rare talent of painting a vivid picture of the inner city, an ability that has endured within his catalog long after his tragic passing in 1996.
