Born in Southern California, Jhené Aiko started her career early, laying down vocals for B2K, but gave up a record deal to finish her education, raise her daughter, and eventually blaze her own trail as a singer/songwriter. In 2011, Aiko returned with her first full-length project Sailing Soul(s) and later that year, she signed a deal with No I.D.’s ARTium—distributed through Def Jam Records. Two years later, she returned with her EP Sail Out featuring “Bed Peace” with Childish Gambino and “The Worst.” The following year, Aiko finally released her now critically-acclaimed debut album, Souled Out, which debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200. Over the last few years, she teamed up with Big Sean for their 2016 joint album Twenty88 and most recently, she debuted her second album, Trip.
