- Biography
Miles Parks McCollum, better known as Atlanta rapper Lil Yachty, broke onto the scene in 2015 with his self-released Summer Songs EP. The delightfully off-kilter tracks “One Night” and “Minnesota” garnered all kinds of attention, and a record deal quickly followed. His debut mixtape Lil Boat and the subsequent Summer Songs 2 were the first of his releases through a joint venture between Capitol Records, Motown Records, and Quality Control Music. Yachty’s debut studio album Teenage Emotions followed in 2017, and he has continued to work at this prolific pace by dropping the follow-up, Lil Boat 2, less than a year later. All the while, Yachty has managed to partake in countless collaborations with his peers, from A$AP Mob to D.R.A.M., the latter of which earned both artists a GRAMMY nomination in 2017 for their quirky earworm “Broccoli.” Yachty is a beacon of youthful energy that is nothing if not infectious.
