BAND HEADING OUT ON TOUR SUPPORTING WADE COTA
“The Jacks deliver the kind of infectious ’60s British invasion rock sound that you can’t help but turn the volume all the way and leave on repeat” – Earmilk
LOS ANGELES – November 1, 2019 – Los Angeles-based rock ‘n’ roll band The Jacks release “In The Bleak Midwinter,” today, November 1 via EDGEOUT Records/UMe. The track is an exciting change for the original carol; taking it from a traditional choir ensemble and giving it a refreshing rock and roll spin. Produced by GRAMMY®-winning engineer/mixer Thom Russo, the song was recorded in Southern California on a hot summer day, but regardless, The Jacks added their spirit of the holidays to the song. Listen to “In The Bleak Midwinter” here.
Following the release of their new single and album, The Jacks will close out 2019 on tour with Wade Cota. Cota, a singer-songwriter from Phoenix, Arizona, caught America’s attention as a Top 4 finalist on this season of “American Idol.” Known for his unique, soulful vocals, Cota recently released his debut single “Wake Up” and is working on his first full-length album. The tour kicks off in Houston on November 19th. More ticket information is available here.
“In The Bleak Midwinter” follows the release of The Jacks’ self-titled debut-EP, The Jacks, earlier this year. Of the EP, Billboard said, “the five-song set showcases charged, punchy rock… with touches of garage, glam and more contemporary Britpop.” Joining forces with legendary producer Matt Wallace (Faith No More, Maroon 5, Blackberry Smoke) and mixer Andrew Scheps (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Adele, Hozier), The Jacks recorded their debut album at LA’s famed Sunset Sound Recorders. Comprised of Jonny Stanback (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Tom Hunter (lead guitar, vocals), Scott Stone (bass guitar, vocals), and Josh Roossin (drums, percussion), the band is known for their captivating sound, drawing inspiration from British Invasion bands such as The Beatles, the Who, and the Rolling Stones. The quartet also counts Led Zeppelin, Oasis, The Black Keys, and Cage the Elephant among their strongest influences.
“The sound, while lively and drenched in contemporary garage edge, is heavily influenced by ‘60s/‘70s rock like The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. There’s also a ‘90s vibe leaning towards Oasis and The Strokes.” – Music Connection
“The Jacks make straight-ahead rock ’n’ roll for those who think four-piece bands will never go out of style and those who live in the present” – Buzz Bands LA
Lifelong sports fans, The Jacks were selected to perform at the 2019 NFL pre-Super Bowl and the NHL Winter Classic events. The 2019 Stanley Cup playoffs featured The Jacks’ music during game broadcasts, highlight reels, and commercial bumpers. And being Beatles fans, performing as part of Ringo Starr’s annual Peace & Love birthday event at the Capitol Records Tower was a personal career highlight.
